Zach Oyler and John Kelly For City Council

Both are very knowledgeable about the crisis facing Peoria City..Neither would commit to supporting a buy-out of the water company by the City Council. Both understood the folly of a referendum when the City itself does not know the condition of the water lines underground..Both understand that the city can no longer fund risky private ventures like the Pere and the Marriott and the privately?? owned money losing Chiefs Baseball Club. The hoteliers are waiting a long time and have not filled any of the vacant spaces on the west side of the Marriott. Both understand that you can not afford to spend precious tax dollars on which there is  a return for the very few.

While Jim Ardis is a likable person, he is responsible for the putting the City at risk without concentrating money on the failing infrastructure. To spend $32 million plus on the Warehouse District  has attracted NO high paying jobs to that area. To spend $12 million on Western Ave. when the money would be best used to repair our horrendous streets, curbs and sidewalks. The Public Works Dept. run by the Union, is unorganized and too many workers standing idle waiting for the time clock to indicate closing time.A Letter to the Editors recently highlighted that parody that I have been pointing out for years.

Work on extending Northmoor can wait. What happened to the highly touted extension of Pioneer Parkway and Eagle Point? They were to be a boost in industrial development? Both are dead in the water.

I supported Ardis when he ran for Council and my $3,000 contribution helped Ardis sin the 6th spot on the Council. Brother Tony Ardis called to say my late contribution put Jim over the top. I thought Jim would be for the little guy but instead he sided with the elite that have in the past, run this City.

Dan Sullivan would be my choice for the $97,000?? Supervisor for the poor.

10% of registered voters to turn out to vote. My goodness, what apathy.

Illegals Who Have Made a Positive Effect On This Country

Easy. Set up a law to have them return to Mexico for one day. Then reapply for admittance. The law should be that they are first in line to return to the U.S.A. as legal immigrants. Do it all in less than a week. Quickly establish more entry points. Hispanics are hard worker, by and large. We need them.

It can be done.

The Best of the Best--by a Poetic Irishman

Tuesday November 8, 2016 - a day that will live in infamy, or the moment when America was made great again?

The truth, as ever, will lie somewhere in the middle. After all, contrary to what both his supporters and detractors believe - and this is probably the only thing they agree on - Trump won't be able to come into office and spend his first 100 days gleefully ripping up all the bits of the Constitution he doesn't like.

But even if this week's seismic shockwave doesn't signal either the sky falling in or the start of a bright new American era, the result was, to use one of The Donald's favourite phrases, huge. It is, in fact, a total game changer.

In decades to come, historians will still bicker about the most poisonous, toxic and stupid election in living memory.

They will also be bickering over the same vexed question - how did a man who was already unpopular with the public and who boasted precisely zero political experience beat a seasoned Washington insider who was married to one extremely popular president and who had worked closely with another?

The answer, ultimately, is in the question.

History will record this as a Trump victory, which of course it is. But it was also more than that, because this was the most stunning self-inflicted defeat in the history of Western democracy.

Hillary Clinton has damned her party to irrelevance for at least the next four years. She has also ensured that Obama's legacy will now be a footnote rather than a chapter. Because the Affordable Care Act is now doomed under a Trump presidency and that was always meant to be his gift, of sorts, to America.

How did a candidate who had virtually all of the media, all of Hollywood, every celebrity you could think of, a couple of former presidents and apparently, the hopes of an entire gender resting on her shoulders, blow up her own campaign?

I rather suspect that neither Donald nor Hillary know how they got to this point.

Where she seemed to expect the position to become available to her by right - the phrase "she deserves it" was used early in the campaign and then quickly dropped when her team remembered that Americans don't like inherited power - his first steps into the campaign were those of someone chancing their arm. If he wasn't such a staunch teetotaller, many observers would have accused him of only doing it as a drunken bet.

But the more the campaign wore on, something truly astonishing began to happen - the people began to speak. And they began to speak in a voice which, for the first time in years in the American heartland, would not be ignored.

Few of the people who voted for Trump seriously believe that he is going to personally improve their fortunes. Contrary to the smug, middle-class media narrative, they aren't all barely educated idiots.

They know what he is, of course they do. It's what he is not that appeals to them.

Clinton, on the other hand, had come to represent the apex of smug privilege. Whether it was boasting about her desire to shut down the remaining coal industry in Virginia - that worked out well for her, in the end - or calling half the electorate a "basket of deplorables", she seemed to operate in the perfumed air of the elite, more obsessed with coddling idiots and pandering to identity and feelings than improving the hardscrabble life that is the lot of millions of Americans.

Also, nobody who voted for Trump did so because they wanted him as a spiritual guru or life coach.

But plenty of people invested an irrational amount of emotional energy into a woman who was patently undeserving of that level of adoration.

That's why we've witnessed such fury from her supporters - they had wrapped themselves so tightly in the Hillary flag that a rejection of her felt like a rejection of them. And when you consider that many American colleges gave their students Wednesday off class because they were too 'upset' to study, you can see that this wasn't a battle for the White House - this became a genuine battle for America's future direction. And, indeed, for the West. (Emphasis mine/jcm)

We have been going through a cultural paroxysm for the last 10 years - the rise of identity politics has created a Balkanised society where the content of someone's mind is less important than their skin colour, gender, sexuality or whatever other attention-seeking label they wish to bestow upon themselves.

In fact, where once it looked like racism and sexism might be becoming archaic remnants of a darker time, a whole new generation has popped up which wants to re-litigate all those arguments all over again.

In fact, while many of us are too young to recall the Vietnam war and the social upheaval of the 1960s, plenty of observers who were say they haven't seen an America more at war with itself than it is today.

One perfect example of this new America has been the renewed calls for segregation on campuses. Even a few years ago, such a move would have been greeted with understandable horror by civil rights activists - but this time it's the black students demanding segregation and "safe spaces" from whites. If young people calling for racial segregation from each other isn't the sign of a very, very sick society, nothing is.

The irony of Clinton calling Trump and his followers racist while she was courting Black Lives Matter was telling.

After all, no rational white person would defend the KKK, yet here was a white women defending both BLM and the New Black Panthers - explicitly racist organisations with the NBP, in particularly, openly espousing a race war if they don't get what they want.

Fundamentally, Trump was attractive because he represents a repudiation of the nonsense that has been slowly strangling the West.

He represents - rightly or wrongly, and the dust has still to settle - a scorn and contempt for these new rules. He won't be a president worried about microaggressions, or listening to the views of patently insane people just because they come from a fashionably protected group.

He also represents a glorious two fingers to everyone who has become sick of being called a racist or a bigot or a homophobe - particularly by Hillary supporters who are too dense to realise that she has always actually been more conservative on social issues than Trump.

That it might take a madman to restore some sanity to America is, I suppose, a quirk that is typical to that great nation - land of the free and home to more contradictions than anyone can imagine.

Trump's victory also signals just how out of step the media has been with the people. Not just American media, either.

In fact, the Irish media has continued its desperate drive to make a show of itself with a seemingly endless parade of emotionally incontinent gibberish that, ironically, has increased in ferocity and hysterical spite in the last few days.

The fact that Hillary's main cheerleaders in the Irish and UK media still haven't realised where they went wrong is instructive and amusing in equal measure. They still don't seem to understand that by constantly insulting his supporters, they're just making asses of themselves.

One female contributor to this newspaper said Trump's victory was a "sad day for women". Well, not for the women who voted for him, it wasn't.

But that really is the nub of the matter - the 'wrong' kind of women obviously voted for Trump. The 'right' kind went with Hillary. And lost.

The Irish media is not alone in being filled largely with dinner-party liberals who have never had an original or socially awkward thought in their lives. They simply assume that everyone lives in the same bubble and thinks the same thoughts - and if they don't, they should.

Of the many things that have changed with Trump's victory, the bubble has burst. Never in American history have the polls, the media and the chin-stroking moral arbiters of the liberal agenda been so spectacularly, wonderfully wrong.

It was exactly that condescending, obnoxious sneer towards the working class that brought them out in such numbers, and that is the great irony of Election 16 - the Left spent years creating identity politics to the extent that the only group left without protection or a celebrity sponsor was the white American male.

That it was the white American male who swung it for Trump is a timely reminder that while black lives matter, all votes count - even the ones of people you despise.

You don't have to be a supporter of Trump to take great delight in the sheer, apoplectic rage that has greeted his victory.

If Clinton had won and Trump supporters had gone on a rampage through a dozen American cities the next night, there would have been outrage
- and rightly so.

But in a morally and linguistically inverted society, the wrong-doers are portrayed as the victims. We saw that at numerous Trump rallies - protesters would disrupt the event, claiming their right to free speech (a heckler's veto is not free speech) and provoking people until they got a dig before running to the media and claiming victimhood.

But, ultimately, this election was about people saying enough with the bullshit. This is a country in crisis, and most Americans don't care about transgender bathrooms, or safe spaces, or government speech laws. This was about people taking some control back for themselves.

It was about them saying that they won't be hectored and bullied by the toddler tantrums thrown by pissy and spoiled millennials and they certainly won't put up with being told they're stupid and wicked just because they have a difference of opinion.

But, really, this election is about hope for a better America; an America which isn't obsessed with identity and perceived 'privilege'; an American where being a victim isn't a virtue and where you don't have to apologise for not being up to date with the latest list of socially acceptable phrases.

Trump's victory was a two fingers to the politically correct.

It was a brutal rejection of the nonsense narrative which says Muslims who kill Americans are somehow victims. It took the ludicrous Green agenda and threw it out. It was a return, on some level, to a time when people weren't afraid to speak their own mind without some self-elected language cop shouting at you. Who knows, we may even see Trump kicking the UN out of New York.

Frankly, if you're one of those who gets their politics from Jon Stewart and Twitter, look away for the next four years, because you're not going to like what you see. The rest of us, however, will be delighted.

This might go terribly, terribly wrong. Nobody knows - and if we have learned anything this week, it's that nobody knows nuthin'.

But just as the people of the UK took control back with Brexit, the people of America did likewise with their choice for president.

It's called democracy.

Deal with it.

Fox TV today headline, "48% negative on Trump". Headline should have been 52% positive on Trump. Why would they not have put the positive first?

Mainstream Media's Distortions

The JS and most other left wing medias headline "Immigrants" leaving off the illegal. Only when you read deeper into the news release will you finally come across the term"Illegal Immigrants".

As is well known that people often do read more than a few lines AFTER reading the Headline

The JS and others are so angry over the Trump win I suggest they are all on sleeping pills'

To be such bad losers makes me sad. Everyone that cared (and a lot didn't) new that both candidates were FLAWED. Yet the JS and left wing medias could hardly find any fault of the crooked and corrupt Clinton Cabal.

When Trump said ban all Muslims you had to read deep to find where the rest of the statement lay. What was it? "until we can more thoroughly vet them." That is now what he is doing and I approve his message.

"Facts" are being presented almost daily by left wing Democrats. Some are believable but have on consequence and many are taking Trump's words out of context which seasoned reporters are skilled in doing.. All are intended to make Trump look stupid when instead it shows that they are the stupid ones.

Jeff Session - A Wise Choice as Attorney General

Right or wrong. If everyone is 'RIGHT' on all decisions, this country would not be in a 'deplorable' position left by the past administration.

No President was ever right on all decisions. And neither will be our current President who decisions I may disagree with such as my wish to continue to help fund Planned Parenthood while Trump is leaning toward the religious right.

Transgender? Debate it forever. It is a fact I accept. All rest rooms should have private stalls. Peoria High School had walls removed because of acts committed while using the rest rooms. This transgender bathroom issue is forever. So are all public bathrooms and have been seen first created. Let each state handle the issue.

Former BelWood and Heddington Oaks Admikstrator Is Now Heading an Effort to Buy HO

Matt Neukirk, has approached the Peoria County Board or some members representing a private buyer of the badly failing HO. A couple years after HO opened, Neukirk resigned and it was reported he took a position in the private sector.

Problem is that HO cannot be sold until sometime in 2020. Poor planning caused the taxpayer to be stuck with this $7 million a year loser. But they are and also with $41 million remaining on the loan to build. Also paying interest of about $23 million over the $47 million cost of this Taj Mahal for the disadvantaged.

This information came from an unnamed source close to Andrew Rand, County Board Chair who voted to build HO.

Gitmo Released Muslim is Dead as a Suicide Bomber.

This is not the first to leave Gitmo under Obama to return as a terrorist and their will be many more.Compassion for all.

Sure.

Jewish Cemetery Vandalized in St. Louis - Pence Visits and Shares Anguish

Peoria folks might have forgotten when Springdale Cemetery was vandalized many years ago. Many people helped restore the cemetery. I spent four days working to help. Others did also and no one questioned their party affiliation or race.

People must make a better effort to work together with our leaders. With facts, they can decide who our REAL leaders are and work to get better qualified people to elect and cause working together to create a better nation.

We are not a dictatorship. Trump will be up for election, if he decides to run again, and his haters can vote him out. Most unnecessarily angry Democrats didn't like him when he RAN FOR ELECTION but he won.

Accept it and peacefully protest. Help support law enforcement to find the vandals and support their prosecution.

I didn't like Obama but I did not protest physically against him or violate any of the laws passed by his administration. I know it is hard to lose. If Democrats thought the Hillary Cabal would have been better for this country, they should have voted her in.

Why are you such extremely poor losers? When the vandals in St. Louis  are arrested, no one will question their party affiliation. I highly suspect they are no-registered but if they aren't, I would again highly suspect they have Democrat Liberal and hateful thinking.

Democrats Say They Would Rather Be Friendly Toward North Korea Than They Would Russia

Democrats and their ilk would rather have Russia as the greatest threat to this country than they would to have reasonable relations though often controversial, both political and business, with this huge, important country. Russia has many faults. So does the U.S.A. who has spies in EVERY country including Russia.

So sad.

Vast Danger to America Lies in Small Groups Similar to Terrorist Organizations

Forwarded to me by a friend. Merle

I have been really puzzled about the level of anger, angst, and disrespect at recent “Town Hall Meetings” held around the country by Republican house and senate politicians. The latest one was reported on Fox News and was being held by Jason Chaffetz in his home state of Utah. Understand that Mr. Chaffetz just won his House of Representative seat again during the last election by ~ 73% of the vote. If you looked at the meeting footage, however, you would be led to believe there was mass mutiny by Chaffetz’s constituents. The unruly people shutting down speech were actually people from Obama’s new Organizing For America organization. The site counsels you on how to attend and what to do to disrupt. Google site and you will see. Now things are starting to clear up.
>
> Organizing for America is an organization set up by and for our former President Barak Obama. It is fundamentally a “shadow government.” That’s why he is staying in Washington DC: to run it. Their tactics are straight out of Sol Alinsky’s play book (Rules for Radicals) and there are reportedly at least 32,000 members already who have been charged with doing exactly what they did in Utah all over the country. I would bet Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn’s fingerprints are on this organization, too. Hillary wrote her college thesis while at Wellesley College on her idol Sol Alinsky. Normally thesis’s are kept on file at the college from which students matriculate for anyone who cares to read them, but in her specific case it has been removed. Wonder why no one can read it now? With Obama and the above folks (all from Chicago BTW) involved, this country had better wake up and excise this cancer before it metastasis into something very ugly. This “Shadow Government” should scare the heck out of everyone. Will this man ever go away??

Media Stirring Country Up For the Revolution I Predicted

As I predicted many month ago, this country is heading for a violent revolution in the not too distant future. What is my reasoning? The same as many others that the media is distorting the facts and the people are being brainwashed into hatreds even they do not understand. Whether the people leading peaceful and sometimes violent protests understand facts is beyond being questionable

That those organizing and leading these protests are a overwhelming majority of Democrats, is not a question. Their propaganda is nearing the level of early Nazi Germany..Only difference that I can discern as to what happened in Germany and the U.S.A.  is that "those who hold the gold, rules"."Those" are the ones that enforce the laws of the land. "Those' who were the leaders in Germany let a small band grow into a massive chaos worldwide. ( Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, Hitler was thoughtful, committed people can change the world.) This statement by Margaret Mead many years ago is so true While many of our "laws" are being enforced and changed for the better by this new administration, the media feeds their opinions to the people in a way to sensationalize  and omit anything they believe would dampen the sensationalism of every move that the current administration makes.

I hope that many embedded liberal bureaucrats will be  forced out of positions of power they have helped misuse for decades. They are already trying in many subversive  ways to undermine the efforts of President Trump and his cabinet and supporters to stabilize this country.

Count the Democrats to contest every move this administration makes and help bring the revolution I first predicted by 2030 and later to 2025.Now, maybe even sooner. The Democrats and the liberal press will continue to cite "racism"  caused by the conservative Republicans, they deny that it is little racism when it is largely class. Not necessarily by the position they hold in life, but by attitudes being indoctrinated by educators and the mainstream media and being force fed to their 'believers'..

Democrats No Comprehend??

A letter to your editorial page. Perhaps you prefer this one to my last letter. I believe the Democratic Party has not yet comprehended what the last election meant. They lost the Presidency, the House ( for the 3 d time), the Senate, 31 Governorship and over 1500 seats nation wide. The only explanation of all this is ONE thing. The country re soundly rejected the Progressive agenda of the Democratic party. So instead of intellectually have a self examination , they went violent. They attacked buildings, banks in Washington, burnt building in Berkeley University. They had a women's march that paraded the capitol , highlighted by a bunch of dysfunctional Hollywood characters. They started there speeches by " I am a nasty woman". Madonna "wanted to blow the white house" . Women were welcomed to the marsh except if they were pro-life. The Democratic party reduced women to "body parts" (abortion, contraception, gender issues). Jobs, self esteem, motherhood are secondary.. California wants to secede from the union and signatures are been collected. The now talk about the old "confederate rights" Seattle cut ties with Well Fargo because the company is helping finance the Dakota Pipe line. Using the same thinking , couldn't the conservatives stop dealing with Well Fargo because they finance the city of Seattle? A woman divorced her husband of 22 years because he voted for Trump.!! Neiman Marcus isnot selling Ivanka Trump merchandise. When Barak Obama was elected conservative though he is taking the country in the wrong direction. They did not burn buildings , or march in the streets. They went to Tea Party, grouped and organised and voted at the ballot box. The fact is the majority of the people that voted for Trump did not like an extension of Obama's policies in the form of Hillary. The people that voted for Hillary thought Trump was not qualified. The Russians have nothing to do with the election result. It did however demonstrated the corrupion of the Democratic party inner working. So the voters have spoken and that should be respected , and let both sides find common ground for the good of the great USA. Rida W. Headline - "Angry Voters Flood Town Halls"

One word left out. Headline should read "Angry DEMOCRATS Flood Town Halls". All sore losers, sob-sisters and brothers. So sad.

An Answer to Former City Councilman Jim Bateman

Yes, Jim, I was and am a Trump supporter even though what you sob about would REALLY be bad if the corrupt, lying Clinton's had been elected. I remember you as an ineffectual Peoria City Councilman with a large mouth from which came little substance. Still true. And a hard core #4 Democrat. Quit crying and accept the truth. Trump has a big ego and I agree he believes "my way or the highway" when that stance needs to be taken. This country was looking for a strong leaders who critiqued, insulting some, people to their faces instead of the usual political way of criticizing behind other leaders's backs. Womanizer? Use Bill Clinton' question, what is the 'definition of oral sex'? Clinton ranked right up there as a real 'womanizer' with the Kennedy's, FDR and MLK as role models but all Democrats loved these Democrat boys who would 'just be boys'.

The Wise Nowlans Gather Up 380,000 Signatures - Here is the "Rest of the Story"

Of the 380,000 petitioners, 379,999 were Democrats. One Republican was Ray LaHood. 30,000 were illegally in this country, 70,000 were on welfare, 97,000 didn't vote in November, 8200 were duplicates or one friend signing for another, 200,000 were women, 21,000 were students who should be learning how to work instead of being taught by liberal left-wing teachers how to protest anything that isn't sponsored by a Democrat, 3999 were members of the teachers union, 2200 were employed by the left-leading liberal news medias, and a large number were protesters who couldn't even hold a job if it weren't for 'diversity and equal (ha) opportunity'. Did I mention the Nowlans are #5 hard core Democrats who have left Illinois in financial, infrastructure, crime and corruption trouble??

Most Dydfunctional Peorple Right Now Are the SORE Losers Democrats

Sob sisters like I[ve never read or even heard. They should read more about President Abraham Lincoln if they want to know about chaos or look at the situation "the swamp' was in when Trump took office. I'll critique him when his 100 days are up. Meanwhile, you losers including the ONCE great State of Illinois, continue to weep your phony tears. While I laugh all the way to the bank.

David Stockman is 'Insane' - Not Trump - So is NewsMax On Many Occassions

Of course, the market is overpriced. It was overpriced before Trump became President. Even dumb me oew that and had predicted in my blogs, a sell-off in late 2016 or early 2017 (if Hillary won). But Stockman, who allegedly made his fortune on insider information, is now blaming everything he can on Trump If he thinks "it's all Trump' he should sell and take his huge profits and shut up his lying mouth.. Stockman is a typical wealthy airhead and a Clinton supporting Democrat. What would you expect. Like in most everything it is 'who you know, not what you know'. Describes most analysts to a T.

David Petraeus For National Security Advisor

One of best Generals who could lead and people would follow that this country ever had. Donald, please offer him the position. Was FDR, the Kennedy's impeached or "fired" for infidelity??
