O. J. To Be Released From Prison in October

Parole Board did what they probably had to do by law. Perhaps he will then make some money to pay the millions owed in the Civil Suit he lost to the families of the people he allegedly murder.

Lydia Bradley - Will - 9/8/1892 and Codicil Dated 2/16/1903

I have a copy, approximately 30 pages, with her signature and signature of witnesses. I find interesting the changes she made in her Codicil and wonder whether the "Bradley Fund" she created was ever fully legally appropriated and if it exists today.

It appears the Probate Clerk, Charles A. Roberts made an error by writing 1908 as sworn.

But here is what the will states that I find most interesting. Under 3rd., her last will states "in no event license or permit the sale or other distribution of intoxicating drinks of any kind within said park" (Bradley Park) etc.

When Rt. 74 was constructed, Bradley Park was separated leaving a small parcel that was later became a minor league baseball field today called "Shea Stadium" while the ball park, Meinen Field moved downtown and is known as the Peoria Chiefs.

As I understand and could be wrong,, no liquor was sold at or on this parcel of land until Pete Vonachen became involved. Some may recall that Pete served on the Peoria Park District Board, who was steward of this parcel, and was succeeded on the PPD Board by his son, Rocky.

I was appointed  in 1992 to the PPD Recreation Advisory Committee by Tim Cassidy, President on thee PPD Board of Trustees. I resigned in October of 1995 due to my purchase of a home in Sun Lakes, AZ. During the time of Rocky Vonachen's term on the board, 7 out of 13 meeting of the Recreational Committee due to "nothing to talk about".

Now liquor is distributed an sold at most Peoria Park District Facilities.

Interesting. Hm.

Just a reminder. "Meinen Field" was traded back to Bradley University for 40 acres of farm land at the corner of Fox Rd. and Rt.93 Or 92?? Bradley paid $13,000.00 an acre, way above the going price at that time. In 1992, when I ran for Park Board President against Cassidy, the Peoria Park District through Cassidy and Noble, was committed to build a huge sports complex as widely touted by the JS.

The land is still farm;land. (All in all, Bradley bought over a million dollars of farmland in that area. To my knowledge, it is still farmland). The JS, in their hatred for me, never broached the subject again as to what then was traded for Meinen???

The JSEB is concluding seminars on hw to identify "fake news".

Oh, dear God!!!!!!!!!

National Lampoon Dated 1972 - "Deteriorata" - Funny, But Sad

"Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof. Avoid quiet and passive persons unless you are in need of sleep. Rotate your tires. Speak glowing of those greater than yourself and heed well their advise even though they may be turkeys; know what to kiss and when.

Consider that two wrongs never make a right but that three do. Whenever possible, put people on hold. Be comforted that in the face of all aridity and disillusionment and despite the changing fortunes of time, there is always a big fortune in computer maintenance.

Remember the Pueblo. Strive at all times to bend. fold, spindle and mutilate. Know yourself; if you need help, call the FBI. (Or the NCAAP, Hillary, Nancy or the ACLU, my comment) Exercise caution in your daily affairs, especially those persons closest to you. That lemon on your left, for instance.

Be assured that a walk through the ocean of most souls would scarcely get your feet wet. Fall not in love therefore; it will stick to your face. Gracefully surrender the things of youth, birds, clean air, tuna, Taiwan; and let not the sands of time get in your lunch.

Hire people with hooks. For a good time, call 606-4311; ask for Ken.Take heart among the deepening gloom that your dog is getting enough cheese; and reflect that whatever misfortunes may be your lot, it could only be worse in Milwaukee. You are a fluke of the universe; you have no right to be here (and have air conditioning, my comment), and whether you can hear it or not, the universe is laughing behind your back.

Therefore make peace with your God whatever you conceive Him (or her, my comment) to be; Hairy Thunderer or Cosmic Muffin. With all its hopes, dreams, promises, and urban renewal, the world continues to deteriorate. Give up".

Public School Air Conditioning

Wonder why so many people are fearful of the future? No it's not Trump and the "follow the Lemmings Democrats" No, it's air conditioning in public school, No, again, that is just a symptom of the present.

No, it;s the way we shield kids against what awaits them in the future. Study with the windows open? No, I forgot. You can't do that because if a kid jumped out the window and bruised a knee, the parent - parents would sue the school. Put up fans? Nope. Got to be conditioning I'm told the LAW says. Play outdoors when the temp is in the nineties? No, Once I was teaching tennis outside at Proctor Center, when an obese woman came out and said it was to hot for the kids and they had to go inside.

Maybe my memory fails but I was raised with NO air conditioning. I was in the service with NO air conditioning. I was in 16 years of school with NO air conditioning. I lived in a condo types or apartments in Macomb, Heyworth, Springfield, East Peoria and Peoria while I was teaching and working. We had no air conditioning at Colusa, Heyworh or McClean. I slept outdoors or in a room out at the Red Barn on N. Galena Road while I was grooming, feeding and cooling Show Horses. I even slept comfortably outdoors at Forrest Park in St. Louis while tending 8 horses 50 feet away.

Please, all you weak public politicians, bureaucrats and board members of all groups, why are you foremost in creating a society were all bad things are ON THE RISE including the number of unemployed youths, increasing number of young people homeless, drug users, crime committers and unmarried pregnant girls?

Far too many "bleeding hearts" I've blogged about for so many years. Hardship for many who really need help? Absolutely, but my, how the line has grown as most government bodies that dish out the welfare (No, my Social Security check is not welfare nor was my GI. Bill of Rights) I paid into and served the my country while the government was supposed to wisely invest my money instead of robing SS to pay OTHER bills and hand out your money to all who requested. Now,this nation is going broke. Need I mention, Illinois,,Maine and Michigan leading the pack.

We've spoiled out kids to  the point of where responsibility is a word they can't even spell. Work? I work, they say. Don't I pick up my clothes once or twice a month. Tend a garden? You kidding? What do you want? I can steal it from the guy next door.

Has anyone considered why community gardens fail? They must, as I don't see any news articles on them lately. Yes, I and hundreds of million others, most now dead, survived into our late 80's and 90' WITHOUT a hundred things rich, middle class and poor, take as an obligation owed them in the past several decades.

This summer if far from over. But bigger problems than lack of skilled workers and the heat lie in the near future. Eventually, you won't be able to blame it on Trump. More blame could go to Lyndon Johnson, wasn't he the one who created "The Great Society" or something like that and lost a war we should never have fought, the Kennedy's, the Clinton's, the Bush clan and absolutely of 8 years of Obama.

A recession lies somewhere up the line. (Repossession of  financed everything starting with vehicles is already here) Do you think this society is prepared/ Thinking of my self and my family.

We believe, we are. Are you?

Charity, Etc.

Charitable Contributions

If you are like my wife and and receive about 800 requests for funds or renew our memberships like the one just received from WTVP, you wonder where all that money goes. For example, an organization called Community Builders whose mission statement is "Our mission is to unite the Christian resources of Greater Peoria to meet the spiritual, economic, and social needs of our community", started out with a lot of hype, neighborhood canvases, grant money of at least $150,000+. Three targeted schools were Manual, Trewyn and Garfield. Joyce Banks was administrator. (Jane Baker is now in charge with a new phone #6965656). Another $10,000 grant was received in August, 2008 and another unspecified amount was received in a grant recently. Trewyn administration said there no after school programs this year by CB, the Garfield Principal, irritated over my questions, couldn't say but mentioned White Oak and Family Counseling; I called my friend Ron Tyler, who said no money or programs that he could ever remember from Community Builders and no one from Manual High returned my two requests. Nothing unusual there. The only way I can find out what goes on after school at Manual is drop by and talk to the janitors who know who is in the building after hours. They say, what "community" programs? So do I.

Charter Oak School does or did have after schools programs. Hope they are continuing.

These programs were to be "after school programs", not just summer programs and they were to involve the whole community surrounding the schools. See the JSEB Editorial dated 8/12/04, "Make better use of schools as neighborhood centers". The JS reported on 12/23/05, "Schools would be open 24/7". Superintendent Hinton said "We are linking up and developing new concepts for using schools beyond school hours". That was 2005 and sure they are, varsity football, track, basketball, baseball, volleyball, cheerleaders and some other sports with few participants.

Specifically, the JS reported on 9/25/05 the following "Ken Hinton yelled "Yes" when finding someone home while going door to door conducting his first resident survey of community needs and interest. Manual, Trewyn and Garfield plan to become 'full service community schools' this year, which means the will provide services and resources that the people want, said Hinton".

Ah, such great dreams and so poorly followed through and such apathy. There were to be committee after committee meeting with each school and each school was to have an "in school community director".

The program feel flat through lack of interest and administration. When I ask a soon to be departing school board member, she said check with Jim Stowell and "I wonder how much time we are taking out of administration to ask "bits" of information". The original administrator is gone and there is little money in the bank except for the new grant.

What community schools? The cash strapped JSEB couldn't even followup there own grand ideas. See their editorial of 8/12/04 titled "Make better use of schools as neighborhood centers". See my blog of 4/27/07, titled "Schools an all day affair?"

So sad.

And a computer center (19 at last count) in the back of Manual High. This Center is operated by Workforce Network. The computers in Manual High can't be used after 2:30 five days a week.

Community School??

Now 150 officials are saying "we will have 24/7" in the new schools. Why didn't they have them in the old schools? Where were Community Builders with their $150,000 grant? Oh, summer programs.

I see.

Now the largest provider of for the homeless, the YWCA, is starting a fund drive for $50,000 to expand their homeless shelter to another floor at 714 Hamilton.

I know people who give money for good causes never check to see how their money is used but they have a "good feeling about giving". Sure, these clubs like the Boys and Girls Club have boards of directors, some of them attending fund raising dinners for the advertised two locations, Grinnell and Kansas St. Problem was that Grinnell was closed in May 2007 but management did not notify some board members and evidently, Caterpillar who promoted a fund raising dinner a year after Grinnell was closed, listing both locations.

I've been saying for 15 years that Peoria has too many organizations all working for our youth (roughly 70 at one time) and many of them building their own bureaucracies, writing grants, hiring administrators and recruiting board members, many who lose interest, don't attend board meetings and in one case, one told me he didn't even know he was a board member. Back in the nineties, the B & G Club had 19 members. Four, including myself and the then police chief showed up to set the budget for submission to the United Way. The president, McFarland Bragg, showed up 20minutes late and asked for the agenda. The manager refused to give me program attendance numbers and I resigned. I believe they still have 19 "members" today.

Which leads me to ask about the Museum Committee composed of all these different organizations. So much conflicting news released to the press, including documentation released through their legal counsel, John Elias in conjunction with Peoria County in their request for an additional, $20 million plus public money received already, $40,000,000.00 new tax dollars to make up the fund drive shortfalls.

Which leads to my next blog on public tax spending transparency.

Boys and Girls Club and Community Centers

The Boys and Girls Club at Grinnell St. is closed. (There is no sign on the door but it is closed.) Board members say older youth gangs took it over so the board decided to close it. The location on Kansas St. is inadequate in most ways and the building needs a new roof. And the club needs a new bus. A board member tells me they do not have enough money.

Activities at the Grinnell location have been shifted to Trewyn and perhaps some activities at Manual High.

The hyped Community Centers Program is directed by the faith based Community Builders. Joyce Banks is Executive Director of the program. Mrs. Banks says the centers are working. I guess it depends on a definition of “working”. Spend some time at Trewyn and Manual after school closes. Visit unannounced and see for yourself as it’s been said thousands of times that “Figures lie and---------.” What I see is an expensive child care center for a limited number of kids. As to adults “bonding” with their kids after school hours? The centers are open until 8 PM or later so there may be a few adult programs during the 35-40 hours of the buildings being open. But in four visits, I didn’t see any nor was I told about any adult programs. I did see maybe a couple of volunteers observing. I did not see any flyers or signage promoting adult programs.

When I visit, I talk to whoever is connected in one way or another to the subject of my visit. These facts are not gathered from someone living in Weaver Ridge or from an “Ivory Tower” executive. This information I always gather is from people who are actually INVOLVED in the community, not the people who just FUND the systems.

The Community Builders grant was for $150,000.00 and was for one year and I am told they are out of funds. How much of the 150 thousand was paid in salaries and benefits?
I stopped by Community Builders office to see Mrs. Banks. She chastised me for not making an appointment. She says “60 kids from the Boys and Girls Club use Trewyn for after school activities.” On four visits to Trewyn after hours, I counted an average of 20 kids in TOTAL with what I would call limited organization and programs. Adult programs, if any, were not visible or posted anywhere in the building. Vandalism? I was told of an incident and actions taken. More could happen as the buildings are open without sign-ins and security is limited.

On visits to Manual, the only thing I see that may be working as an “after hours community center” is the Workforce Network Computer Center which is open from 3 till 8 Mon. – Fri. and 10 -2 on Sat. A computer class for Manuel students starts at 2 PM. I was told by a Dist 150 Board member that she was told that computer users were “turned away” twice last week. That is difficult to believe figuring that the center is open approximately 30 hours per week. On four personal visits I saw as many users at one time as none to 8. I was told by an employee that they did not record the number of users but that they did teach classes at least twice a day. There are 20 computers.

As I’ve said before, the centers of learning, the libraries are all closed for after school activities. $100,000.00 has just been spent to convince the City Council to tax property owners $35,000,000.00 for public library expansions. Most of us, who live in the city, should be convincing councilpeople that more property taxes are not in the best interest of growth in the City of Peoria.

As Peoria is in denial about so many things, I believe that many influential Peorians want to believe that so many of these money sucking programs that teach our kids the things they will need to succeed in life, are working.

A few are but when you consider that there are over 14,000 kids in the public education system, and the school’s budget is close to $140,000,000.00, $10,000.00 per kid, highest in the entire area, one would hope so. The programs that are not working are the ones that worry many of us.

Our Police Chief says he could use 25 more officers on the street. The way I see things deteriorating in many areas of this community, the day is not far off when the Chief will need a lot more than 25 more officers. The Sheriff will be asking for more funds for jail expansion to “temporarily” incarcerate the ones similar to those who have forced the closing of the South Side Boys and Girls Club and for those who are considering “school learning” as a liability. Also, those who use schools (and centers such as the B & G Club) as gang recruitment centers.

The money to fund all the city pensions, health care, and other benefits, will come from the City of Peoria tax payer. Most of the money to fund the welfare programs, public building like public schools, the public library system, the RiverPlex and the zoo, will come from the City of Peoria taxpayer. The deteriorating infra structure like the sewer system, public works, public safety, public transportation and government funded businesses will be supported by the City of Peoria taxpayer.

New schools and expanded libraries are not the answer but those in denial will continue to believe and convince you that “new and expanded” is the way out of the unstable conditions of the City of Peoria.

The way out is a crackdown of discipline all over the community and a cut back on welfare to those who could work but won’t. Increased public safety, (A businessman acquaintance could not understand why a poor person was fined for parking in a disabled slot without a necessary permit?) as the no population growth city expands in square miles needed to be protected. We need public schools not beholden to the teachers union and less outside government interference. We need smaller combined bureaucracies, more pride in community; without this pride comes more enforcement, stronger highly paid (Pay incentives should attract a better choice of candidates to elect), smaller elected boards that control large amounts of taxpayer’s money, combined entities and services and less political correctness.

All accomplished with a demand of hard love, of mutual respect, community cohesiveness, the ability to take criticism and a consistent system of law enforcement.

Probably won’t happen until pigs can fly. Then again, that depends on what the definition of a “pig” is.

People With Good "Intentions" Should Not Let Facts Get In Their Way

Community meetings after community meetings and now a new law titled "Illinois Youth Development" making Illinois the first state in the nation to make after-school programming official.

Sounds again like lot's of taxpayer dollars with lots of new administrative jobs, new offices and secretaries and very little leadership.

That is what has been proven in Peoria. The JS announced on May 23, 2008, in an article titled, "Community school will debut". "Kids programs such as book clubs, sports instruction, cooking classes, will be available

Abortion - A Subject I Seldom Blog About.

Latest clamor for preventing a baby be born comes from Ex-Peoria Mayor Lowell  "Bud" Grieves. His term or terms were not favorably memorable.  I doubt whether Bud has spent much time with pregnant teenager's with no money, no admitted father, often no home to live in besides Grandma or MAYBE a Mom and Dad, often one of both, on drugs. I doubt that Bud has ever set foot in Planned Parenthood. or made an unannounced visit to a south end public school classroom.

Enough already. But one last question to Bud. How many kids have you adopted, raised and how did they ALL turn out??

Bud always tries to say he is a good Christian, but lost in the news was the time he, while allegedly intoxicated, backed into a light pole in the parking lot of a downtown business he once owned. Fortunately, he did not get out on the highway. Bud; good Christians don't get drunk and hit  an unmovable object.

Bud is allegedly a very wealthy man. If he didn't adopt any of these unwanted or mother unable to support and raise her child so put her child  up for adoption, what a hypocrite he is.

Marijuana Deal Goes Bad- Four Young Men Are Dead - Two Alleged Killers Face Long Prison Terms

While hndreds of thousands of mainly young people are dead or in jail from deals going bad, robberies, shootings, killing and maiming, our politicians turn a dead ear on legalizing the growing and use of this ILLEGAL  drug.

Why? Because of the hundreds of thousands security and failed eradicators would be out of a job. Plus the blue-noses who THINK their children aren't users. No, I am not a user nor is anyone in my immediate family. But I could name dozens of users and point out the residences of illegal sellers.

Would I? No, because marijuana use should long ago been legalized..

I have never said marijuana was GOOD for anyone to use it except for medical purposes. But facts are FACTS and millions pf people in the U.S.A use it much the same as alcohol which is the DEADLIEST of all drugs, legal and available EVERYWHERE.

Nonnie Darwish - A Brave and Brilliant Historical Author

I have written many blogs about the the influx of Muslims who bear more children by at least a three to one margin over Caucasians. This brilliant and brave author has written 2 books that are a must read for people like myself and Ray V. who sent me a reminder email. I tried to post his email to my blog site but, as usual, failed.

The books are "Cruel and Usual Punishment: Terrifying Global Implications". and "Joys of Muslim Women" by Nonnie Darwish of course.

Some may recall the overthrow of the Shah in Iran so many fateful years ago. How the Iranians who were considered friends by the Caucasian inhabitants of Iran, were murdered by these "long time friends" during and after the revolt that put the again terrifying Ayatollahs in power.

This country is headed for a revolution. I earlier predicted it would come in 25 years. Now I've narrowed to time frame to 15 years as many mis-led blacks are and will convert to Islamic faith. Where the Hispanics, who also birth far faster than Caucasians, will side on is unknown, but I do know that in 15 years, slightly more or less, California and possibly Arizona and New Mexico will break off from the U.S.A. and no Civil war will stop them.

Again, do not mis-quote me. I have long afo posted that I do not paint all ethnic groups with the same brush. I dare you to read these books instead of continuing to succumb to the Socialist Hollywood types, some big money people like the CEO of JP Morgan and George Soros.

Events are moving at warp speed. A third Party in the U.S.A. may slow the process. Both the Republicans and of course the Democrats are speeding up the possibility of a third party.

Many of our forbears predicted that if this ccountry did what they feared, this country may someday be controlled by a Putin type perso. Putin is a strong leader but Trump nor I believe him to be a "just" leader. But stong he is, deny it or not.

Facts hurt. The fact that as many as 20 million married, married the wrong person. For most, it is too late to get out. Don't let our country wait until it is too late to get out of the direction we are heading.

Lobbyists - Too Many in Both the Private Sector and Governement

Yes, governmental bodies have lobbyists. When I was on the County Board, the county and the City shared the lobbyists cost. I was the only NO vote. Way back when, a LTE I wrote, was published in the JS entitled, "Our dependence on federal government increasing". I ended my letter to the editors by saying "The government is seizing on this opportunity to expand our dependence on them"

Boy, was it ever an opportunity by the government to take more to DC and send back less to those who they took the most from.

Jokes on Men - Probably Why Women Want To Marry Each Other

But then if these men are so dumb, why do women marry them????

A LOT OF JOKES ABOUT BLONDE FEMALES FLOAT AROUND THE INTERNET BUT SOME MAY BE SURPRISED THAT THERE IS A WHOLE GROUP OF JOKES ABOUT MEN THAT MANY DO NOT SEE. ENJOY THIS OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN. One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his Sweatshirt. Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to me, 'What setting do I use on the washing machine?' 'It depends,' I replied . 'What does it say on your shirt?' He yelled back, ' OHIO STATE !' And they say blondes are dumb.... ------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ------- A couple is lying in bed. The man says, 'I am going to make you the happiest woman in the world...' The woman replies, 'I'll miss you...... '. ------------ --------- ------- 'It's just too hot to wear clothes today,' Jack says as he stepped out of the shower..'Honey, what do you think the neighbors would think if I mowed the lawn like this?' 'Probably that I married you for your money,' she replied. ------------ --------- --------- --------- ---- Q: What do you call an intelligent, good looking, sensitive man? A: A rumor --------- --------- --------- ---- Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man; Love to forgive him; and Patience for his moods. Selfie Taking Woman Destroys $200,000 Worth of Art

The elite call that crap art? But then there are thousands of "suckers born everyday".

Too Many Spies In Russia? Probably - Too Many Russian Spies in the U.S.A,? Probably

The U.S.A. has spies in every country worth while. We even have spies in Israel, Germany and England. Spying on other countries is as old as written history. If wpies are captured, they may have a short private hearing and then depending on who they are their value, they are quietly returned to their country of origin, quietly disappear, imprisoned, many tortured or whatever the circumstances call for. Sorry folks, but that, in a nutshell, is how government intelligence works. One difference is that in our country the mainstream left leaning media does the spying in this country on those they don't like. They love Hillary and Bill but HATE the Donald and his family.

Some Florida Police And Cities Are Too Aggressive In Making Stops And Arrests

The pulling over of a black States Attorney for some alleged license plate registration problem, prompted proper outrage by the people. Some of you may remember that I was arrested in Sarasota by what Jerry Brady, our Peoria States Attorney called "entrapment" where a police officer posing as a prostitute waved me down. Yes, I did listen to her and talked to her but at no time did I touch her, offer her any money nor did she enter my car or room. Four police cars surrounded my stopped car, I was handcuffed behind my back (I was 88 years old), my car impounded, taken to a police holding station where I was fingerprinted, mug shot taken, my body was searched; one male searched me twice and juggled my genitals twice. I was held 3 hours, my cell phone scanned, paid Sarasota $500 for an arrest fee, non-refundable. When I arrived to pick up my car, the business was closed. i took a cab the next morning and paid $185 to get my car out of overnight storage. My hearing was before a Judge in July of 2014, three years ago. He said he would render a decision and let me know. My attorney says he will never rule me guilty of any misdemeanor on the evidence presented to him. But most judges appear to not wanting to over-rule a police arrest. How did my arrest reach Peoria in 2 days? Back in 2002, I sued a Stowell for what I believed was his investment mis-handling of my money. It so happened that Jerry Stowell, who for some reason, left Metamora, where he had been head basketball coach, for an elementary teaching job in the Sarasota area. He forwarded my arrest copy to his brother, arrogant Jim Stowell, who circulated it to 13 different medias in Peoria. CSI still runs my arrest prominently probably because I was a Republican and a media critic. Most people who pay any attention to the medias know they admit to sensationalize any event that involves someone they don't like (Think our President, Donald Trump) All the medias identified me as a "Republican Former County Board Vice-Chairman" but none identified me as the Founder of Widmer Interiors, a reputed now $20 million office planning, designing and selling their products and services all around the country. Back to the black lady and the 2 white police officers that stopped her. i hope the 2 white policemen are suspended without pay and receive more training. As to my arrest, i doubt if I ever get my my reputation nor my $160 back.

"Lack Of Skilled Workers" Joke Heard At Breakfast This Morning

It has recently been noted, that because of too many rules and regulations, young skilled workers are heading overseas where less red tape is involved for many vocational skills. The joke? They are leaving because of fears that the company they work for, will assign them to Illinois. So sad but mostly true.

Skilled Workers - Lack of in the U.S.A. Why?? Leaders, Get It In Your Thick Heads That All Kids Are NOT Colllege Material

Look up my old blog under Widmer Peoria Watch this subject of more than a decade ago, I explain in detail the upcoming shortage. Dan Silverthorn of PALM addressed the Southwest Kiwanis Club on this concern. He, as I, have tried to get the message across that we needed VOCATIONAL EDUCATION yet the public schools were trying to teach all kids as if they were college material. At least half of them were not and never will be. But in this country our failed leadership demands a college degree or degrees for almost all types of work. Yet many high paying jobs SHOULD NOT require a College degree. Some effort was made by #150 when they created 4 Academy schools. The idea failed miserably and the Academy System was eventually dropped. (See more om my old blogs about why they failed) Then an effort was made to establish Woodruff High as a Vocational School. That idea, according to my observation and from those who have visited and observed, is close to an abject failure. Now efforts are made by #150 to make Vocational training more available. We have hundreds of retired skilled workers who would be happy to pass on their skills to youth. But few programs allow these non-college grad people to help out. Why not? Because the unions and school boards feel these skilled retirees would take jobs away from mostly poorly schooled teachers. Money was just released to allow #150 and other schools to hire more guidance teachers in schools. (My old blogs always said we needed more SILLED guidance people)They should start vocational needs as early as 6th grade but I;m sure the money will be spent in high schools and will concentrate on college bound students rather than the badly needed skilled vocations workers. Vocations may need to be SOLD to the youths by people who HAVE ACTUALLY MADE A RELATIVELY HIGH STAND OF LIVING WITHOUT A COLLEGE DEGREE. At one time Pekin had one of the best vocational schools in the nation. Hope they still do. Shame on this country and their leadership that we have a lack of skilled Vocational candidates where a college degree SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED.

Bradley University Political Science Professors - 'Them Thats' Smarter Then the Rest Of Us

One, who wears an interesting headpiece, has recently told us how wise he is as published in the "Spotlight" of the JS. (A retired doctor rebutted him once as I posted on this site. The doctor is much wiser than 80% of any college health/political science/social engineering professor). The second published Bradley "wise" man says that private schools are a "no-no and public schools turn out better products. Ho-ho. Another Bradley wise man told us how bad Trump is doing. Surely my readers know that 80% of all teachers in the public sector and many in the private sector, such as Bradley, are Democrats. Especially those who teach political science or social studies. If you want your High School grads to get a "fair and balanced" education, send them to schools such as Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. And Economics. Wasn't it two Bradley Professors who claimed that the new Peoria Riverfront Museum would bring in $16 million MEW dollars into our community. What happened? Let's see, how many tax dollars would have flowed into Peoria from that nebulous $16 million? I never heard from them again on the subject. Most have probably forgotten that the referendum vote to build the museum succeeded by only 400 votes out of 30,000 cast. Nor do i hear any more from the JS as to how many "full priced" visitors visit the artsy museum. Like I never heard from the JS how many dollars are brought in from outside the area visitors. some may recall that the original name of the museum was to be "Peoria Regional Museum. Hmmm.

Tax the Rich More? "Them That Has the Gold, Rules'

Sure, a little more. Why not a lot more? I'll give you a good examples as to why not. A number of years ago, I was sitting with a friend at a Peoria Heights restaurant when a politician stopped to chat. He said he liked an idea I posted on this site and would like to schedule a meeting with me. My friend had recently written him a check for $10,000. I gave this politician $100. Did i ever hear from this politician again? You guess. How can politicians expect to get elected and re-elected if they "bite the hands that feed them"?

Bipartisan Cooperation Only a Dream

On 3/1/06, columnist Cal Thomas wrote, "Has anyone checked lately to see if hell has frozen over?". Predictions, probably true, that Trump will not be able to accomplish much in this term. So what's new?? I'm asking far left leaning "journalists" such as those teaching at Bradley University, again, so what's new??

Hearttland Bank Will Close Knoxville and Pioneer Parkway Location

Closing date is late September of this year. At last count, there were 13 banking location along Knoxville. I expect there will be more closings in the not too far off future. Expect more retail closings in the next 12 months. Sears may be in jeopardy according to believable news media.

One Billion Plus Will be Needed in NEW tax $s to Bring Vehicle Travel Up to 90% Normal. Where?

In Peoria City, County and Tazewell County. Most of the $ needed will be on the west side of our river. Peoria County officials stated over a year ago that they needed $200 million. The City of Peoria is way beyond fixing potholes. Entire streets will need to torn out and replaced. The cost to vehicular traffic will add an additional $2-$300,000 in waiting time, gas and vehicular engine wear. Will the work required be done? Probably not without substantial tax increases. In the meantime, certain vehicles pay NO gas tax to the repair and replace fund. What I predict is MOST likely true.

Message to the Governor of Near Bankrupt New Jersey

Governor Christie, do you now know why you didn't get a cabinet position under President Trump??Also, you looked like a beached whale on the beach. You might look better jogging over the now famous bridge.

Hope you and yours had an enjoyable 4th while your barred constituents were preparing to add to your heat.

CNN - Political Fake News Outlet For the Democrats and the Far left

CNN was being raked over on a couple of factual TV Stations tonight but I can not find anything on the internet. If you are a solid fan of this TV News disaster, you and I are very far apart on out political views. If you support the Socialist leaders of "Black Lives Matter', we are even further apart. Sorry, but I am seldom politically correct. Being politically correct has been a long time problem maker that has been a major cause of unrest sweeping the major cities of this country.

The JSEB is holding "informative" meetings warning their audiences to beware of 'fake" news. Kinda like calling "the kettle black". Yes, kettles were usually black when shown in historical settings.

Recently, 27 out of 31 cartoons on the JS Opinion page were derogatory to President Trump. Do they not like him? They HATE him and are doing everything they can to oust him. Recently they said that Trump had ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING to-date. The JSEB says fairness and facts are their specialty. Try to convince them that the better choice was Trump rather than the Clinton Cabal. The editorial board is in adulation of the left leaning Washington Post, the highly prejudiced AP and far left leaning Gene Robinson and Leonard Pitts.

Lot's of luck.

War Against Drugs is a LOST Cause

11,555 people murdered in Drug Wars in Mexico in the first FIVE months of 2017. Drug lords control whole states in Mexico. Most customers are in our country. Something is drastically wrong with our leaders, many who use imported drugs themselves. Eradication has FAILED.

I highly suggest that anyone selling of importing drugs be executed ASAP. When I was in Singapore, that was the law. Still successful? I don't know. Worth a try here.  Exception, Marijuana.. Much less dangerous than any other drug available including alcohol. The U.S.A. would be a better place to live. Legalize Marijuana here and tax it. I do not condone the USE OF ANY DRUG. But, like alcohol, Marijuana is widely used illegally even here in Peoria. So is every type of drug ever concocted. Telling young and older not to use drugs has about 0 effect on the user.

We should know by now that when we tell youth NO to sex or drugs they usually disobey. Years ago, I was told by an employee of Planned Parenthood that the largest numbers of pregnant students they assisted, were from a Catholic School.

Ask most any cop (who doesn't use anything worse than Marijuana) or any family that has lost a member thru use, abuse or turf protection killings whether eradication is working or not. The answer will be "NO".Stopping drugs at the borders? Ho, ho, ho.

So sad.

Learn Facts By Reading Fiction/History

As I mentioned on Facebook, "a piece of the world" by Christina Baker Kline. Also, "Blacklash" by Deeneen Boreli and " Putin's Gambit" by Lou Dobbs and James O. Born.I do not have the energy to describe the contents nor list the credits of the authors but all information is available on the net. Better yet, read the books, skimming, like I sometimes do, some of the detailing that may not interest you.

All have stories to tell very UNLIKE "Fifty Shades of Grey", a book and movie filled with fantasy for unrequited women, and some men, and no moral story to tell.

Assassination of North Korea Satan Not An Option

After decades of brain-washing the young, a new Satan would replace him. What good did the killing of the Libyan Satan, the incarceration of drug lords led to more vicious successors (drug related killings are on the rise in Mexico and the U.S.A.) and is Iraq better off without Saddam?

There are always thugs, often half educated, (just because one has a bunch of high sounding degrees has never meant that one is really educated unless taught the facts) waiting in the wings and hoping to be the successor to the ones assassinated. As Fox TV reports, most major and I mean MAJOR problems facing mankind, comes from "kicking MAJOR problems down to the next administration".

Too little, too late. and despite those who claim to detest our President, including 11-15 million illegals, he is the one who truly believes that "the buck stops here". President Donald Trump does NOT want war but he is not now nor ever will be supported, in his positive efforts to right this country, by 'bleeding hearts, far left liberals, CNN and all sore losers.

Five months of being daily, hourly, assaulted by every type of hateful individual, media or dangerous protesters ever born anywhere,  have aged this man who never really was a politician or ever will be. Nor will he be "politically correct" like so many politicians and bureaucrats who have led us into 'the swamp' that still exists in DC and many other parts of this country.

With all his faults, thank God that we DO NOT have the Clinton Cabal or the dangerous Sanders' along with Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi, Charles Schumer, Jesse Jackson and the East Coast nutcase woman trying to position herself to be the Democrat nominee in 2020, in command of our uneasy destiny.

Birthday Celebration Over - I'm Trying for 93

Thanks to all those who wished me well. My loving daughter and business woman who hosted an outing at her home in Columbia, Il., my other daughter, Mary Jo, hosted me for two nights in her built to order new condo in Edwardsville,  my still loving ex-wife, Dee, who baked the cake you saw on Facebook, and a cake from a friend, a new wallet, a dinner and a movie.

All this and I only thought I would live to be 75. Instead, I was still playing full court basketball at 75 and tennis at 90. Good genes, no drugs ever, very light use of the most deadly drug of all, alcohol and also deadly, tobacco.

I've survived 3 cancers, a triple by-pass and one misdemeanor false arrest. The judge did not find me guilty but the hateful Stowell's, Jerry and Jim, made sure my arrest was widely circulated.

I know. The good die young; my lovely niece, Claire Kauffman, 17, killed by a drunk driver and my brave cousin Richard Witzig, 21, killed in his first air fight by a Japanese better trained fighter pilot. Still, I'm thankful for the extra years, deserving or not.
