AARP IS A SOCIALIST BRANCH OF THE OBAMANITE CLAN

All AARP mailings to this household goes in the round basket. Most thinking people should know by now that OBAMA  is a cinch for a third term. And probably a fourth. He is now and will continue to take his demagoguery all over the world especially the third or poorer parts of the globe. He is a charlatan and even the people disappointed in him are forever true believers.

So sad.

SHRINKING AARP IS LOSING PLENTY OF SENIORS...AARP'S FALL FROM GRACE.

THE LADY THAT WROTE THIS LETTER, NOT ONLY HAS A GRASP OF ‘THE SITUATION’ BUT AN INCREDIBLE COMMAND OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE!

Her letter was sent to Mr. Rand who is the Executive Director of AARP. It only takes a few days on the Internet and this will have reached 75% of the public in the USA ..

Dear Mr. Rand,

Recently you sent us a letter encouraging us to renew our lapsed membership in AARP by the requested date. This isn't what you were looking for, but it's is the most honest response I can give you. Our coverage gap is a microscopic symptom of the real problem, a deepening lack of faith. While we have proudly maintained our membership for years and long admired the AARP goals and principles, regrettably, we can no longer endorse its abdication of our values. Your letter stated that we can count on AARP to speak up for our rights, yet the voice we hear is not ours.

Your offer of being kept up to date on important issues through DIVIDED WE FAIL presents neither an impartial view nor the one we have come to embrace. We do believe that when two parties agree all the time on everything presented to them, one is probably not necessary. But, when the opinions and long term goals are diametrically opposed, the divorce is imminent. This is the philosophy which spawned our 200 years of government.

Once upon a time, we looked forward to being part of the senior demographic. We also looked to AARP to provide certain benefits and give our voice a power we could not possibly hope to achieve on our own. AARP once gave us a sense of belonging which we no longer enjoy. The Socialist politics practiced by the Obama Regime and empowered by AARP serves only to raise the blood pressure my medical insurance strives to contain. Clearly a conflict of interest there! We do not understand the AARP posture, feel greatly betrayed by the guiding forces that we expected to map out our senior years and leave your ranks with a great sense of regret. We mitigate that disappointment with the relief of knowing that we are not contributing to the problem anymore by renewing our membership. There are numerous other organizations which offer discounts without threatening our way of life or offending our sensibilities and values.

This Obama Regime scares the living daylights out of us. Not just for ourselves, but for our proud and bloodstained heritage. But more importantly for our children and grandchildren. Washington has rendered Soylent Green a prophetic cautionary tale rather than a nonfiction scare tactic. I have never endorsed any militant or radical groups, yet now I find myself listening to them. I don't have to agree with them to appreciate the fear which birthed their existence. Their borderline insanity presents little more than a balance to the voice of the Socialist Mindset in power. Perhaps I became American by a great stroke of luck in some cosmic uterine lottery, but in my adulthood I CHOOSE to embrace it and nurture the freedoms it represents as well as the responsibilities.

Your web site generously offers us the opportunity to receive all communication in Spanish. ARE YOU KIDDING??? The illegal perpetrators have broken into our 'house', invaded our home without invitation or consent. The President insists we keep these illegal perpetrators in comfort and learn the perpetrator's language so we can communicate our reluctant welcome to them. I DON'T choose to welcome them, to support them, to educate them, to medicate them, or to pay for their food or clothing. American home invaders get arrested. Please explain to me why foreign lawbreakers can enjoy privileges on American soil that Americans do not get? Why do some immigrants have to play the game to be welcomed and others only have to break and enter to be welcomed?

We travel for a living. Walt hauls horses all over this great country, averaging over 10,000 miles a month when he is out there. He meets more people than a politician on caffeine overdose. Of all the many good folks he enjoyed on this last 10,000 miles, this trip yielded only ONE supporter of the current Regime. One of us is out of touch with mainstream America. Since our poll is conducted without funding, I have more faith in it than ones that are driven by a need to yield AMNESTY (aka-make voters out of the foreign lawbreakers so they can vote to continue the governments free handouts). This addition of 10 to 20 million voters who then will vote to continue Socialism will OVERWHELM our votes to control the government's free handouts. It is a "slippery slope" we must not embark on!

As Margaret Thatcher (former Prime Minister of Great Britain) once said "Socialism is GREAT - UNTIL you run out of other people's money."

We have decided to forward this to everyone on our mailing list, and will encourage them to do the same. With several hundred in my address book, I have every faith that the eventual exponential factor will make a credible statement to you. I am disappointed as all get out! I am more scared than I have ever been in my entire life! I am ANGRY! I am MAD as heck, and I'm NOT gonna take it anymore!

Bass Pro Got Nice Financial "plug" From the City of East Peoria

Here's the "rob Peter to pay Paul" deal. The city paid for the 150,000 sq. ft. building, parking lot and a 2 mile stretch of highway with municipal bonds ($45,000,000.00). The city also must pay for interior and exterior costs for the building and maintain the parking lot probably forever.

In return, Bass Pro agreed to a 20 year lease. The lease will generate approx. $8,000.000.00 in rent over 20 years. Also, it is projected to generate approx. $27,000,000.00 in sales tax revenue over 20 years. The land is tax free. These numbers are not static and leave approx. $10,000,000.00 to chance.

Bass Pro brags about receiving over $1,300,000,000.00 in local and state assistance all across the country.

Of course, big box stores funded by taxpayer dollars create a lot of jobs, but many of the higher paying jobs disappear when the projects are completed. (think the Peoria Riverfront Museum, RiverPlex and zoo expansion on track to lose at least $800,000.00 this year)

This blog copies part of what Nona Tepper wrote in the Journal Star while asking "with breaks like that, how are mom-and-pop stores supposed to compete? Bass Pro says business is business and you have to operate. City Administrator says Bass Pro helped bring in other businesses but he did not say what East Peoria committed taxpayers to to bring in stores like Costco, etc. and other business. Profiting is un- measurable.

I sure wish governmental bodies were handing out deals like this in the area when I opened in Peoria in 1964.

Not really. I think the competitiveness with taxpayer dollars against existing business stinks but the odor is here stay.

Unfortunately.

ABC Bans America Flag Lapel Pins

I don't know how long ago this happened but it checks out as true. Evidently this email has been floating around for a while.

ABC NEWS BANS FLAG LAPEL PINS This is what we get from the present attitudes in Washington.Barbara Walters said that this was going to hurt ABC bad.
And she works for ABC.
YESTERDAY THE BRASS AT ABC NEWS ISSUED ORDERS FORBIDDING REPORTERS TO WEAR LAPEL PIN AMERICAN FLAGS OR OTHER PATRIOTIC INSIGNIA. THEIR REASONING WAS THAT ABC SHOULD REMAIN NEUTRAL ABOUT 'CAUSES'.
SINCE WHEN IS PATRIOTISM TO BE DISCOURAGED?
I URGE YOU TO BOYCOTT ABC AND ITS SPONSORS AND AFFILIATES. WE ARE SLOWLY LOSING EVERYTHING OUR COUNTRY STANDS FOR AND EVERYTHING OUR MEN AND WOMEN FOUGHT AND DIED TO PRESERVE!

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO AS MANY AS YOU CAN.

Journal Star Editorial Board Says, "No, is not such a bad word"

This editorial in today's Journal Star states what I have said in at least 10 blogs; namely that when it comes to spending money where the need is to "rob Peter to pay Paul", politicians can't say no. The paper points out that the City Council DID say no to Cullinan Proprieties request for a low interest loan of $675,000.00 for a construction project that supposedly would bring more business to downtown Pekin. A business that would compete against other competitors who received no low interest loans when they started up year ago.

Against the City Manager's strong recommendation. Good for the council to stand up against blackmail attempts by wealthy businesses to get money from the taxpayers rather , as the Journal Star says, from local banks like they used to do.

However, I don't recall the Journal Star protesting the building of the RiverPlex that took and takes business away from a number of health clubs that pay taxes. The RiverPlex, owned by the Park District, doesn't pay taxes and missed their financial projections by a country mile.

Why use their credit line at banks when the politicians are so pleased to act as bankers with taxpayer dollars? Look at taxpayer money lost when Peoria County and the City of Peoria, with pressure all the way from Springfield, lent money to soon to go bankrupt FireFly. And on a National level, who can forget the Solyandra (sp) scandal and dozens of other business that borrowed large sums of money from the Obamanites only to go belly up.?

I recall years ago when Dianne Cullinan (now Oberhelman) appealed to the Peoria City Council for an $8 million loan to support the Shoppes. I was one who testified against the loan and the City Council, by a close vote, denied the loan. What happened? Dianne's project proceeded and appears to be a success with a minimum of taxpayer dollar spent, and that,  mainly on infrastructure.

Then look how a majority of  current City Council members has put the taxpayers on the hook ($37 million or so) for the Marriott project.

The Journal says they believe in capitalism but has the pendulum swung too far? Of course it has. I blogged on robbing Peter to pay Paul many, many years ago. Should Counties and Cities be making loans like as if they are a knowledgeable bunch of loan officers? Of course not. But they say "everybody else is doing it and can now point to Bass Pro in East Peoria.  The reasoning is that banks approved these loans. Of course, but when risky loans are made like loans to FireFly, In-Play and Globe Energy , the banks were first in line to get their money back while the governmental bodies were left holding the empty bag.

So everybody is "doing it" and that is anoher prime factor of the sorry financial situation of governement bodies all over the nation and the nation itself.

Fiscal Cliff Worries? Political Burnout? Just Read These "Facts"

Forwarded to me by a friend. Take a break - ease up - relax more and cherish the "good old days".

Merle

People need to learn something new every
day...Just to keep the grey matter tuned up.

Where did "Piss Poor" come from? Interesting
history.

They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so
families used to all pee in a pot and then once it
was full it was taken and sold to the tannery...
if you had to do this to survive you were "Piss
Poor".

But worse than that were the really poor folk who
couldn't even afford to buy a pot...

They "didn't have a pot to piss in" and were the
lowest of the low.

The next time you are washing your hands and
complain because the water temperature isn't just
how you like it, think about how things used to be.

Here are some facts about the 1500's

Most people got married in June because they took
their yearly bath in May, and they still smelled
pretty good by June. However, since they were
starting to smell, brides carried a bouquet of
flowers to hide the body odor.

Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet when
getting married.

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water.

The man of the house had the privilege of the nice
clean water,

Then all the other sons and men, then the women
and finally the children.

Last of all the babies.

By then the water was so dirty you could actually
lose someone in it.

Hence the saying, "Don't throw the baby out with
the bath water!"

Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high,
with no wood underneath.

It was the only place for animals to get warm, so
all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs)
lived in the roof.

When it rained it became slippery and sometimes
the animals would slip and fall off the roof.

Hence the saying, "It's raining cats and dogs."

There was nothing to stop things from falling into
the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom
where bugs and other droppings could mess up your
nice clean bed.

Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over
the top afforded some protection.

That's how canopy beds came into existence.

The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something
other than dirt.

Hence the saying, "Dirt poor." The wealthy had
slate floors that would get slippery in the winter
when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on the
floor to help keep their footing..

As the winter wore on, they added more thresh
until, when you opened the door, it would all start
slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the
entrance-way.

Hence: a thresh hold.

(Getting quite an education, aren't you?)

In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with
a big kettle that always hung over the fire.

Every day they lit the fire and added things to the
pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get
much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner,
leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight
and then start over the next day. Sometimes stew
had food in it that had been there for quite a
while.

Hence the rhyme:

"Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas
porridge in the pot nine days old."

Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them
feel quite special.

When visitors came over, they would hang up their
bacon to show off.

It was a sign of wealth that a man could, "bring
home the bacon."

They would cut off a little to share with guests
and would all sit around and chew the fat.

Those with money had plates made of pewter.

Food with high acid content caused some of the
lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning
death.

This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the
next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered
poisonous.

Bread was divided according to status..

Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the
family got the middle, and guests got the top, or
the upper crust.

Lead cups were used to drink ale or whisky.

The combination would sometimes knock the imbibers
out for a couple of days..

Someone walking along the road would take them for
dead and prepare them for burial.

They were laid out on the kitchen table for a
couple of days and the family would gather around
and eat and drink and wait and see if they would
wake up.

Hence the custom; "holding a wake."

England is old and small and the local folks
started running out of places to bury people.

So they would dig up coffins and would take the
bones to a bone-house, and reuse the grave.

When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins
were found to have scratch marks on the inside and
they realized they had been burying people alive.

So they would tie a string on the wrist of the
corpse, lead it through the coffin and up through
the ground and tie it to a bell.

Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all
night (the graveyard shift) to listen for the bell;
thus, someone could be, "saved by the bell" or was
"considered a dead ringer."

And that's the truth.

Now, whoever said history was boring!!!

So get out there and educate someone!

Share these facts with a friend.

Inside every older person is a younger person
wondering,"What the heck happened?"

We'll be friends until we are old and senile. Then
we'll be new friends.

Smile, it gives your face something to do!

Peoria Riverfront Museum - Administrator Downplays Weak Attendance Numbers

Riverfront Museum Administrator defends lower projected attendance figures on WMBD TV by saying it is the quality of the exhibits and not the attendance figures that count. It appears Mr. Richerson is confused as to all the hype generated to pass the referendum by a slim margin of 400 votes out of 30,000 cast. Over $600,000.00 was spent by the museum people to sell the public that a museum should be built. With PROJECTED  museum attendance of 240,000 now backtracked to 60,000 LESS.

The Journal Star was a heavy supporter of the museum, saying two years ago that the funds had been raised, so why not move ahead. Actually, as late as today all the funds for the museum have not been raised. The JSEB also complained that anything would look better than the empty Sears block.

I'm not so sure. For $136,000,000,00, I see an unattractive COMPLEX with a lot of steps to climb if you pay-to- park on the east side of the building.

How about some firm projections of a loss of approximately $2.3 million per year that I project to grow every year for the next 50 years.

Well, it's been built and the backtracking continues such as Mr. Richerson's statements on TV Tuesday. Everything from NO IMAX theatre to a reduction in space from 110,000 sq. ft. to 81-83,000 sq. ft. to $99,000,000.00 for the museum from $60,000,000, about three years ago..
Read my older blogs and you will find that all but one of the "benchmark" museums showed a DECLINE in attendance after the first year, etc.......

Why Did Republicans Lose Races That Were Theirs To Win?

Exactly one year ago (November 11. 2011) I blogged, "Why Obama Will Win in 2012?" Despite the efforts and the money spent, many Republican  campaigns could have presented stronger candidates, repeated less erroneous commercials, and spent more time positively presenting how they would change what is happening now which is spending a lot more o n things this country cannot afford.

I know that some people will say what about the Democrats? True, but negative ads didn't help Schilling, Sullivan and Ierulli..On the other hand, they appeared to help Obama, perhaps because he used them EARLY and stayed with consistent lying putting the Refpublicans on defensive throughout the entire campaign.

Yet taxes remain high and have only one way to go and that is up. The citizenry is spoiled. They want more with less effort. And no one wants to give up any excessive benefits they are now receiving. They also believe what Obama says not letting as the old saying goes "don't let facts get in the way" and they didn't.

And don't and maybe many never will. 96+ blacks voted for Obama? Unreal..

It is possible, except for fact that Obama will, over the next four years,  stack the Supreme Court and the unions belligerency will increase, that it was best that the Democrats retained the Presidency and the Senate. Soon, they will no longer have justification  to blame previous administrations even though they will continue to do so. Especially with the continued help of so much left leaning media.

For the readers reading who view and listen to factual information, I am not going to be redundant and repeat the dozens of reasons why the Republicans did so poorly. But I will add a couple more facts. One possibly major fact was the snub of Ron Paul at the Republican Convention in Tampa. Paul had die-hard support that decided, especially after Tampa, that they would sit this election out and they did.

Another powerful reason the Republicans failed so miserably is that the far right wing has way too strong a dissent against conventional thinking.  The party leadership in general is made up of too many old heads thwarting progress. Gays and lesbians are here to stay. And grow. Although I do not condone same sex marriage, it will be more and more tolerated by a more permissive society. I would have so stated and moved on. I have never shunned gays or berated them.

Solutions to illegal immigration has been poorly by both parties. Belatedly, this situation can be more gracefully??? handled as I wrote in  my several blogs on illegal vs. legal immigration and how to handle the 11 million illegals already living in this country, some for 15-20 years. Round them up and ship them all back?

Hardly.

Factual failure by Republican blue-noses to recognize is the fact that the drug eradication programs are failing. Why, because people are going to use drugs, come hell or high water. Some states voted to legalize marijuana. Twice on this blog site I called for a national debate on drug use. Eventually it will come and the people will speak as they have on the gay rights issues.

The fact that marriages face the problem of fidelity is a far larger issue than most men and women care to admit. It is my belief that in time private lives will become more private especially after the Petreaus and friends?? publicity. Almost forgotten are the FDR, the Eisenhower and the Clinton years as the country becomes more secular. If it can be proven that Petreaus's personal actions comprised this countries security? Well, then his actions will result in disciplinary action. Edwards and Arnie infidelities will be slower to be forgiven.

When the best people to run our country are judged by a highly publicized incident in their private lives and thus denied the opportunity to "right the ship" the more this country will be run by those less qualified. That people cheat it best paraphrased by the old parable. "Let those who have not sinned cast the first stone."

It's far from a perfect world out there. Maybe not as far off as some people believe but the world of technology was not there in the 19th and 20th centuries. But it is here now and there WILL BE LESS AND LESS SECRETS IN PEOPLE'S PERSONAL LIVES AND PUBLIC LIVES.

Unless our slide to some sort of socialism becomes so rapid that only dictatorships can succeed. Remember, I have already predicted some sort of a revolution in this country before 2050 and maybe as early as 2025.

I won't be around to help pick up the pieces if any are left.

Peoria County Board Election

The Peoria County Board remains the same with  Democrats remaining in power  (10-8) for the 12th straight year. with the most votes cast in District 16, 5096, where Republican Brad Harding easily won over Democrat William Atwood, by a margin of 1056 votes. In Brad's interview with the Journal Star Editorial Board, thr JSEB wrote on Oct. 23 as follows, " Many a board can be well served by someone who challenges convention (al) wisdom, and Harding invokes former Peoria County Board Member Merle Widmer as something of a role model." Whew, I'm sure glad Harding won by a substantial margin.

Several Republicans felt that Harding might not be able to hold his position,

Brad had some of the same thoughts I had about the inflated numbers thrown out by the Museum Committees and concern over the lack of private funding including the not as yet fully funded Museum Endowment Fund.

Brad also questioned some of the numbers put forth by County Administration about the old and new BelWood Nursing home (soon to be renamed Heddington Oaks).

As late as November 10, the Andy Kravetz of the JS was quoting the BelWood Administrator as saying BelWood runs a $30,000 deficit after Peoria County adds another $1.4 million in indirect costs such as payroll, pensions, insurance, etc.  Probably correct but then you must add the approximately $2,000,000 that BelWood collects from Peoria county property tax owners.

It is amazing all private owned Peoria County nursing homes make a profit while PAYING all their own indirect taxes from their revenues and receiving NO revenue from property tax payers. BelWood is a 300 bed capacity with about 180 bed filled at this time.

Heddington Oaks is being considered by the board as adding a dialysis center for client convenience and to boost revenue.

Actually, Most People Voted For Obama For Personal Gain

Yes, the hell with the future of our country, what's in it for me. For example, Trumpka and his ilk, will now get their card check.

Merle

Occasionally people have the vocabulary to sum up things in a way that can be quickly understood; this quote - from the Czech Republic. It was translated into English from an article in the Prague newspaper, Prager Zeitungon
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president."

A Letter From an American Soldier in Afghanistan

I'm not going to worry about party lines anymore. I think the phrase "the more things change the more they stay the same" applies. Domestically, individuals should take control of their own future and quit depending on a politician or some other figure to improve their situation. Foreign policy seems to be entirely run by corporations, and honestly who really matters? Like 5 countries are carrying the rest of the world.

Guess that sounds pretty negative. For now that's how I my political opinion sits. My fellow Americans want socialism. I want property and guns!

Openly gay in the military has never been a good idea. Better just not bring it up. We all make sacrifices in the military, being gay and keeping it hidden should have stayed that way.

Our mis-management of the Embassy attack in Libya has heads rolling. A General made a decision to go against orders and called up a response team was recently relieved of his position. In my opinion the top brass should all have difficulties sleeping at night knowing they allowed Americans to die while they did nothing. Of all the topics I have not cared about, this one has my attention. We deserve answers.

Enough politics. You probably wonder what I'm doing here. Right now I'm training the Afgan version of a SWAT team. There's a joint effort here with SOF members from 10 or so different countries and some contractors all working to train these guys. As of now we're supposed to be mentoring Afgans instructors who in turn run most of the training. We're under funded and under supported, on top of that this program is less than 1 year old so it's a young program. I'm happy I learned ........  Dari or Pashtu. If I spoke either of those that would be great. We have 2 interpreters assigned to my team..

Afghanistan is every bit as 3rd world as you can imagine. The smell of Kabul was horrible. I'm so happy I work in mountains away from that place. Pretty desolate here but people still function and try to find their happiness within their means. The Taliban is everywhere. There's no beating it in my opinion. The villages are too disconnected. I have heard other SOF guys tell me they have visited isolated towns and the locals really thought they were Russian. They had absolutely no clue what was happening. The government has no control due to the lack of mobility.

My focus so far is to learn the motivation of my students. Why are they here? Why do they want to be police, nonetheless why to be a SWAT police. So far their motivations are much to their own and very subjective. In Iraq the Iraqis were proud to be Iraqi and that nationalism I could identify with, understand, and use. Afgans are all over the map. My approach has been to motivate them to be SWAT commandos, to be better than the regular police, have more discipline and pride in the fact they've been chosen to be Special. We'll see how that goes. The underlying fear is that the students will turn their guns on us. Thankfully I know many truly wish the foreign militarises no ill will. So, we're likely not to be overrun but sporadic incidents have occurred often over that last 60 days. I'm sure you've heard. Luckily none have been from the SWAT police nor have they occurred at the training centers like this one. Still, I carry my pistol every where and when they have their guns with ammo I'll be on guard. But, the struggle is we have to let our guard down to get through the training.

Well, that's about it for that. My final thoughts this evening is that I have decided to try my best to get stationed stateside as soon as I can. Germany is great. But, not having the ability to see my family during a weekend or go out to shot guns is a drag. Colorado will likely be where I'll end up. Hopefully in the CIF company there. Communications?  I'd rather just shot stuff, blow up doors, and fast rope from helicopters like I did in that school I was at.

Gun Maker's Stock Moves Up Sharply Today

If you didn't think people who base decisions on facts are concerned about the future of this country, you might note the hefty rise in the value of gun maker stock today. If you listened to me you would have enjoyed the same paper profits my wife and I made by acting on my advice. I expect shares of gun makers will continue to go up along with your taxes.

Meanwhile, stock of most businesses, except those favored by Obama such as solar stocks and certain health associated stocks and "tort" corporations, will continue to struggle to grow their businesses.

In the meantime, I again advise, do not discard your weapons. Their will be a concerted effort by this administration to take weapons out the hands of those who use them only for their own defense, gun shows, shooting exhibits, game hunting and the fun of collecting.

Also, join me in supporting States Attorney Jerry Brady in his efforts to get guns out of the hands of those who wish to inflict death and destruction on themselves, mostly blacks, and innocent black and white people.

Election Summation by the Wall Street Journal

Wall Street Journal pretty well sums up the whole election in a few words. As printed in the WSJ on November, 2, 2012, "Mr. Romney has promised a new era of partisan comity, which may be his most unrealistic promise. Most Democrats are in denial and honestly?? (my ??) believe that government status quo can continue simply by raising taxes on "the rich." Perhaps Mr. Romney's slide decks and persuasion can disabuse them of this illusion: he should try and no doubt he will. But one challenge of his Presidency would be judging when his attempts at compromise go too far and undermine the ability of his reforms to succeed.

On that note, our major question concerns Mr. Romney's political character. His history of ideological reinvention and Bay State governance suggests he might bend or concede too much. Our hope for a President Romney would be that he has come to recognize how profound our troubles are and what it will take to solve them.

Perhaps Mr. Romney's most appealing trait is his optimism: We have problems, a whole lot of them., but they are solvable. Americans have always believed that. Yet the sentiment seems unusual given the current President who won with large Democrat majorities but has spent the ;last four years blaming his predecessors for every ill as if they are intractable.

Mr. Romney has treated voters like adults and offered them a true choice about the future. He is promising change, and for once that abused term doesn't mean for the worse."

Along this summation comes another realistic comment by Bruce Reeves of Walnut Creek, CA. on sending American educated Chinese back to China where he guesses they will reject any fanciful "critical thinking" efforts implanted in them just as the Chinese absorbed and outlasted the zeal of Christian missionaries at the beginning of the 20th century.

The Chinese know that many Americans reject critical thinking,, whether in the form of any need for fact-checking statements in the current presidential campaign,. or in the belief that God won't let a raped woman conceive.

In America, critical thinking almost always losses when it runs up against emotion. Politicians,d religious leaders, and CEO's (and Democrat s, my addition) know this well, whether Chinese or American.

Tell me about it.

"World Class" City Major Newpaper Can't Publish Sunday's Paper

The Journal Star, Peoria's largest, by far, could not deliver Sundays paper. No reason was given in the paper that was delivered this morning with Mondays paper. Calls to the newspaper today indicated the problem was "production" problems. It is noteworthy to observe that the Journal Star endorsed Romney on Sunday. The paper's production staff is unionized.

Any possible connection?

Just asking.

Don't Blame Lockheed

Forwarded to me by a friend. Read this article carefully. Check it out.  Merle

Lockheed Martin is laying off 123,000 workers just weeks before Christmas.
This needs to go far and wide before Early Voting starts.
The President is trying to hold off any announcement until after the election. This will make a significant increase to the already very questionable 7.8 % Unemployment number.
Lockheed is going to lay off 123,000 defense workers due to Obama's downsizing of the military. This hit the Drudge report yesterday. This is true! I checked it on Google
The law requires Lockheed to give 60-day notice to all to-be-fired employees within 60 days. That drop dead date would be November 1st. Since this would be devastating for his reelection, Obama has promised that our government would cover all Lockheed severance packages to fired employees if Lockheed would not release the names and locations of those losing their jobs until after the election! Do you have any idea how many millions that will cost the taxpayer? Thank you Obama!!

Grassfire Nation Needs Your Help

From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott,
Grassfire Nation

Dear Merle,

I just received a special report from Gary LeBlanc who heads up Mercy Chefs -- a relief agency that provides hot meals to disaster victims.

Gary's team is now staging their operations in New York City.

As you may know, Grassfire has partnered with Gary to provide tornado and hurricane victims with thousands of meals this year.

Here is an excerpt from Gary's message...

"We have set up on the lower east side of Manhattan serving in an impoverished and hard-hit area of the city.

Last night the food line to the Mercy Chefs Mobile Kitchen stretched around the block before we opened our doors to begin serving people.

With a short turnaround time, we were able to feed 900 people a bowl of hot chili and cornbread.

The need here is mind-boggling.

Many of the victims we are serving are without water and power - and may be without power for as many as 10 days!

We are told that there are over 40,000 people living in the immediate vicinity of where we will be serving.

That is a tremendous amount of people - and a tremendous commitment.

To feed 40,000 people is an astronomical commitment. I am believing God for a miracle each day because it costs us about $10 to provide a hot meal to a family of four who have no place else to turn for a meal after this massive storm."

merle, the Grassfire Nation team has been generous in the past in supporting the work of Mercy Chefs - and now I need to tell you about this tremendous opportunity to directly help victims of Superstorm Sandy.

Mercy Chefs is expecting to provide tens of thousands of meals in the coming days to victims of Superstorm Sandy. I'm hoping that Grassfire team members will once again step forward and sponsor hundreds if not thousands of these meals. Will you consider making a tax-deductible contribution today to help Mercy Chefs meet this need?

HELP PROVIDE HOT MEALS TO SUPERSTORM SANDY VICTIMS

Please note that you will be directed to Mercy Chefs' PayPal page where you can make your tax-deductible contribution directly to Mercy Chefs.

+ + Just $10 Helps Feed A Family Of Four In Sandy's Path

It costs about $10 to provide a hot meal to a family of four who have seen their lives turned upside down in the past few days by this massive storm. If you can help with a gift of $30, $50, $100 or more, Mercy Chefs will put it to work immediately in response to Sandy.

And as you know, Mercy Chefs is totally dependent on the generosity of friends like you. Your tax-deductible gifts literally make it possible for Gary's team to provide this service.

Eric, a Grassfire team member recently wrote...

"Awesome creative way to start assisting those in that area devestated by Sandy storm. Bless you all who are involved and we will pray that everyone is safe while battling untold difficulties getting food to those in need. GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!"

Thank you, on behalf of Grassfire, Mercy Chefs and the victims in New York for any help you can provide.

Steve Elliott, Grassfire

P.S. Mercy Chefs is in lower Manhattan feeding tens of thousands of people victimized by Superstorm Sandy. Helping Mercy Chefs provide hot meals is a very practical way for Grassfire team members to help our fellow Americans who are suffering in the path of this destructive storm.

I know Gary personally and have seen the great work his Mercy Chefs team is doing. Please help by providing a hot meal for one, two, three, five or more families in Sandy's path.

Check out Gary's most recent Mercy Chefs video in the Lower East Side.

MoveOn is begging, pleading, lying in an email

It's funny to read the emails from MoveOn.

You remember MoveOn, don't you? It's the organization based on "move on folks, quit attacking Bill Clinton for his Monica Lewinsky adultery, his perjury, and his impeachment, let's sweep them under the rug and pretend they never happened".

Forget about the corruption and lies of Clinton -- and "move on".

Well, they're at it again. The presidential  race, in spite of massive mainstream media support for Obama, and in spite of Obama's relentless failures, false statements, and arrogance, is close. Too close for comfort.

The Chicago Style Political Machine in Washington, DC isn't doing too good. They're in a panic. A frenzy. And now they're trying to whip their supporters into subjection, to fulfill their goals.

Notice the tone, the demeaning way MoveOn is talking to its members.

In violating direct response marketing fundamentals, they give a command ("Click this link....") , then assume the command is being disobeyed, then they launch into berating the reader of their email. Then they give another command, immediately followed by the assumption that the command is going to be ignored.

Then they get so frustrated, with IMAGINED disobedience, they tell a lie. They make up a false story about Bill Clinton specifically asking about the reader of this email, by name. Then they admit it's a lie, "but truthy".

Crazy. Pathetic. It's like they're in melt-down mode and can't think straight.

Their desperation and frustration builds into a bizarre frenzy -- that ends with maniacal multiple post scripts.

Callers needed in Peoria: 7 Callers signed up so far: 5

Dear MoveOn member,

Can you call MoveOn members in swing states today?

Hint: The answer is "Yes!"

Have plans? Cancel them.

Can't cancel? Postpone.

If you got sick, you'd find some way to reschedule your other stuff, right?

And this is way more important than illness. This is the, uh, FUTURE OF AMERICA we're talking about--and it could come down to how many volunteers we can sign up in important states like Ohio and Colorado.

You know how to click a mouse, right?

Sure! You clicked on this email. Perfect. So all you have to do is click this link: Yes, I'll call Ohio, Colorado, and other swing states today and sign up some volunteers.

Thanks, you're the best!

This entire election is going to come down to turnout. And the key to that is awesome, amazing, good-looking MoveOn members just like you calling other members in swing states and signing them up to reach out to would-be Obama voters during the final push.

So give yourself a pat on the back for signing--

Wait--why are you still reading this? It must be that... no it couldn't be... but it...

Did you not click the link?!?

OK, let's not get hysterical. No reason to overreact.

There's still plenty of time to volunteer if you CLICK THIS LINK RIGHT NOW: Yes, I'll call MoveOn members in Ohio, Virginia, and other swing states.

So... um... why haven't you clicked yet?

Are you scared of volunteering?

Really don't be.

Volunteering is great: You get to meet people, have fun, and save your country from being taken over by Mitt Romney.

Here's what's really scary: doing other stuff and not volunteering. Why? Because who knows what trouble you'll get in doing other stuff. You better click this link right away to make calls immediately: Yes, I'll call swing states today.

Still no? Maybe it's something with the link.

Want a link that goes to the same page but has different words?

Boom: OMG I can't believe how much I want to call!!!!!

Or would you prefer a link all written-out in HTML with the "http" and the backslashes and what not?

Here ya go: [URL deleted].

Still haven't clicked?

Alright look, I wasn't going to tell you this, but I guess I've got to pull out all the stops: Bill Clinton called me up personally on the phone and asked if you--yes, you--were going to be helping out between now and Election Day.

Bill's counting on you to help us win. True story.

(Note: Not a true story. But definitely a truthy story. Bill is counting on people like you. And you are, inherently, a person like yourself. Think about it: Who's more like you than you?)

So can you click below to volunteer before the polls close?

Yes, I'll call some MoveOn members in swing states.

Thanks for all you do (especially the volunteering over the NEXT 3 DAYS--thanks extra-much for that).

--Robin, Emily, Victoria, Adam, and the rest of the team

P.S. If you didn't read the email above, let me restate it really quickly for you here in this convenient postscript: We have a lot of calls to make and volunteers to sign up before Tuesday. Click here to start: Yes, I'll make calls right now.

P.P.S. If you didn't read the P.S. above, or the email above that, or the P.P.P.S below this, why are you reading this P.P.S.? Why not just read the other stuff? So much easier, don't you think?

P.P.P.S. This entire paragraph is ONE GIANT LINK for you to sign up to help out for just 15 minutes in the next 3 days--the most important 3 days ever in the history of 3-day periods of time.

P.P.P.P.S. Wait, are you still reading because you are making calls already right now?

That makes sense. In that case, thanks--keep it up! Want to support our work? We're entirely funded by our 7 million members--no corporate contributions, no big checks from CEOs. And our tiny staff ensures that small contributions go a long way.

Chip in here.

Obama the Failure Must Be Fired

Obama is an example of how dumbed down America has become. Obama's solution to problems? Give a quick speech, do a photo opp, then get right back to campaigning.

Many people will vote for Obama, no matter messed up the country is.

Why?

Because they think Obama is "cool", as he destroys their future and their standard of living.

Because they think he "inherited" a bad situation and is doing his best to "fix" things.

Because they don't understand why socialism, collectivism, and totalitarianism is so bad.

Obama is an example of "the cult of personality".

By prancing around on Leno, Letterman, and The View, Obama continues to smile and laugh. He is trying to get people to look at him as a clown and a fun guy...so they quit looking at his miserable record as president.

This empty suit has to go.

ObamaCare - The Devil is in the Details

Please, take a few moments to read:

"ObamaCare's Costs to the Working Class

by David Gamage, in the October 31, 2012 issue of the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

A doctor friend of mine points out that one major thing left out of the 2200 page ObamaCare Act is any tort reform.

This omission will continue to cost the doctors from $300-500 billion a year in additional insurance costs to protect them from these tort class-action attorney specialists. Someone will pay for these additional cost; either the doctor or the patient.

It doesn't take much reasoning to see that general practice physicians are going to retire early and few new medical students will fill these vacancies.

Consider that around 30 million NEW mainly Medicaid and some Medicare patients will be seeking  general practice doctors. Someone is going to bear the extra costs of the many who who depend on the government for their health needs.

Professor Gamage is hoping that Democrats and Republicans will 'WORK TOGETHER TO CORRECT THE FLAWS IN OBAMACARE''.

I can see that happening if Republicans retain the House, capture the Senate and send BO back to being a Chicago activist and being a big hit on the Socialist leaning speaking tour.

Benghazi an Act of Terrorism? Obama Has Yet to Admit is Admit it Was

Fox News is making every effort to let the country know that Obama had to know there was a buildup of Al-qaeda or what ever name these terrorists call themselves, around this city, Benghazi, in Libya.

Yet Obama has yet to declare the murder of four brave Americans, what it really is: an act of terror.

Obama wants to keep strutting around saying there have been no acts of terror against Americans since he took office. Obama wants to keep fraudulently claiming he is "tough" on radical extremists and "good" at foreign policy. He's a filthy liar.

I have recently been accused of not blogging about acts of terror. I beg ones pardon? I have written THIRY TWO blogs on cowardly attacks by terrorists All can be found by entering the single word "terrorism" on the search bar above my profile.

This administration has been bragging about how they have kept Americans safe from terror attacks during the last four years.

# 1 - Why commits acts of terror to destroy our Republic when the current president and majority of Democrats are doing the much of what more blatant acts of terrror would accomplish?

# 2 - Have we already forgotten the 13 dead and 32 maimed of our finest by a U.S. Islamic coward at Fort Hood? While causing extreme grief to thousands of loved ones left behind? In most Muslim countries, this unhuman thing would be hanging from a bridge 3 years ago instead of being well-kept and secure at taxpayer expense.

# 3 - Have we already forgotten the Christmas Day shoe-bomber who failed to kill hundreds and destroy thousands or other lives only because of his incompetence?

# 4 - Have we forgotten the Islam Jihadist who tried to explode a bomb in Times Square on May 11, 2010? His plot failed to succeed because of his incompetence.

# 5 - The dozens of cases that never are published by our liberal medias for fear of embarrassing the president and Homeland Security.

I believe of Muslim Jihadist terrorists do not mind waiting us out.

They are mostly all males (pity the females, above or below) who are taught that they will  have orgies with 72 virgins (and the sooner the better as virgins are becoming a rarity even in the Muslim world). Too bad, the virgins are fat and ugly, but oh well...

However, after a virgin is deflowered, she can no longer be called a virgin. So 1 Jihadist times 72, times 365 days a year times say 50 years, means there had better be a HUGH supply of fat ugly virgins UP THERE!)

And what about their feelings for their wife or wives?  Except that they apparently don't have any feeling except the feelings they have for their pitiful selves.

Remember, also our current president went around the world apologizing for the actions of this country -- which gave the terrorists considerable solace and more excuses to wreak havoc on innocent people.

US military personnel say the Muslim men beg them for porn. Hypocritical male domination zone.

Every Illinois Voter Outside Cook County MUST Vote

We've had enough of Chicago Thug Style Politics. It was bad enough in Illinois. Now we have it in the White House.

Merle:

Boy, this hits the nail on the head

Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint. Both have trouble walking and appear to require hip surgery.

The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then pending the review boards decision on his age and remaining value to society.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The FIRST is a Golden Retriever taken to a vet.

The SECOND is a Senior Citizen on Obama care...

In November if Obama and his Czars get another term -- we'll all have to find a good vet.
