"Dodge City" by Tom Clavin - 2017, "Nemesis" by Chalmers Johnson - 2006

A book to enjoy and get your mind off today's raucous politics.  Dodge City - "The wickedest town in American west" starring the realistic lives of Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson. If you like reading about the settling of the great Southwest in the late 1800's  and the early 1900's and the lives of two of America's best know early lawmen, this is a great read.

"Nemesis" by Chalmers Johnson - 2006, warns Americans that disaster is in making over the past half century as we attempt to be guardian of the whole world's oppressed. 11 years later, this book is proof of our efforts to continue  to do so. That is, until last night when our President Trump, told the world we were no longer every-bodies "sugar daddy" and nation builder and again, calls out other countries to do more to keep world order and win over, and if not able to do that,  increase a combined effort to subdue the devils terrorizing  most of the civilized world.

Our innocence  is not very innocent as our leaders are often times our worst enemy. Remember the cartoon strip where the leading caricature said "We have met the enemy and they is us"? True bacck then as it has been today.

Heavy reading but one can do some skimming on Johnson's book.
