I quote from a "Letter to the Editors" by Jon Rogers in today's JS. Mr. Rogers wrote "after watching the Democrat Party's convention this quote by James Monroe, 5th president of the United States came to mind "It is only when the people become ignorant and corrupt, when they degenerate into a populace, that they are incapable of exercising their sovereignty. Usurpation is then a easy attainment, and an usurper soon found. The people themselves become the willing instruments of their own debasement and ruin.
Obama, the usurper was found. Rather than exhibit any serious reasons for his nomination, or present any meaningful platform or program representative of any "change, "the Democrat Party treated us to a dog and pony show resembling not an exercise in democracy but rather a media spectacle resembling a Roman triumph, a royal coronation medieval kings would have envied, and a propaganda presentation reminiscent of a Nazi Party rally from the 1930' in a stadium at Nuremburg.
All emotion, no logic. All style, no substance. Tired, tried and failed ideas espoused by a man totally lacking in fresh, sensible ideas and experience. His only apparent qualifications are the novelty of his skin color and his gift of oratory, readily consumed by an increasingly degenerate populace moved not by ideals and ideas, but by the cult of personality."
A sad commentary but one I have been writing for several months. The more I read and hear about this charmistic demagogue the more I fear for the future of this country if he is elected.
