Dave, you are aware of the old adage that "you can fool some of the people all the time but you can't fool ALL of the people all of the time". Or something like that.
JS Reporter, John Sharp quotes you in yesterday's JS as follows, "Koehler, D-Peoria cited recent contract talks between Caterpillar and the UAW. Said Koehler, look at the difference between the chaos in Wisconsin and the calm and relief UAW/Cat has in reaching a tentative agreement."
Dave, your statement made like a true Democrat politician probably fooled a lot of people. You certainly know that the chaos in Wisconsin is caused and egged on by the teachers union and their thugs. Plus a minority of militant "teachers".
Teachers are in the public sector, paid salaries and numerous benefits that are supported by TAXES mostly by property owners. Union payrolls come from dues and investments they make in the private sector like Caterpillar.
Dave, your comparisons are similar to comparing lemons to peaches.
Good grief, even a school dropout can surely see there is little comparison at all between the public and private sector employees and their union representatives.
Even if the contract offered by Caterpillar isn't accepted today (which it will be) there will be no strike period. Nor no sit-ins at headquarters.
There is no comparison between the Caterpillar executives and their board and school administrations and their boards.
Caterpillar is a private company who must turn a PROFIT to stay in business, to pay good wages and benefits to union members and all others employed in this PRIVATE company who MUST return a profit to their stockholders and pay taxes like school taxes and other taxes too numerous to fit on this page.
