Ray LaHood writes a column in the Community Word Democrat asking that people get out and vote. I know how Ray LaHood will vote.
For Democrats as he is one posing as a Republican. As failed Secretary of Transportation under Obama, I hear he is going to 'head up' a national committee to 'study' our transportation problems. I could do a better job than you, Ray, and I challenge you to an "open house' debate.
You were always a big spender while in any office you held. You supported a 'highway to Chicago' when USDOT and ILDOT (Dale Risinger) said the economy was not there and neither could be justified in heeldping Peoria grow.. .Than you changed your mind and supported RT.29 to be four lane all the say to RT. 80.
Both failed because neither choice was feasible. You supported a Ring Road from Morton to your major sponsor's Mossville facility. You were years too late on this possible very un-popular ring-road.
You tried to force a HI-Speed rail between Tampa and Orlando. (80 miles costing over 10 million dollars; you promised $3+ Billion and Florida would be stuck with $7 billion plus perpetual maintenance). Florida officials were wise enough to turn your Obama idea down.
You supported a study of a Hi-Speed rail between Peoria and Bloomington-Normal, one of the most ridiculous studies (just one of many to keep the financing and secure the votes of consultants and engineers) ever made in this community.
None of the projects you supported will ever be approved. You wanted an Am-Track thru Peoria. You were too late and 'dollar short'.
So Ray, come out and say publicly,, not behind closed doors, who are you supporting in November. You are like 'anonymous' I'll bet my other farm you endorse no one but you claim to be a Republican???
