Gas Prices - Peoria Vs. Edwardsville

Filled up in Edwardsville, Illinois today at $3.30 per gallon. First gas station I saw in Peoria was $3.50. Yes, I've heard all the rhetoric as why Peoria gasoline prices are always higher. Still interesting.

Several weeks ago, in St. Louis gas was $3.40 a gallon and when I got to Peoria that day it was $3.79. Have never understood it. It is even sometimes in E. Peoria about 15 to 20 cents cheaper.

Edwardsville is competing with Missouri gas stations, who enjoy a lower state tax.

While I am not going to research it, I believe that almost all gas stations in Peoria (and other communities) all post the same prices, is that all gas supply is furnished by 1,2, or 3 major corporations and it is they who set the cost of gas and are making sure one station doesn't undercut the other.

Consequeces of not doing so? Many.
