Terry Kolhbuss Ousted As Head of Tri-County Regional Planning Commission

I worked with Mr. Kohlbuss while serving 3 years on the Council of River Governments (COG). As typical of most commissions in Peoria, we didn't accomplish much. My experience and observation of the activities of the Regional Planning Commission was that it didn't accomplish much for time and money spent. This move was a long time in coming. I wish Terry well in his next endeavor.

Having said these things, I still believe that Peoria has too many groups working towards the same goal and too many big egos to let go of any of their power and the money they collect from the populace. The failure of the PRM is a classic example. For more deails read all of my early museum blogs. They are had to find because the titles were different even though I was factualy covering the the entire process.

I also served on the City/County Cooperation Committee, another committee useless as "tits on a boar". After three years, I asked to be replaced on the committee as I felt it a waste of my time. The committee consists of two members from the County Board and two members from the City Council. This commission has been in existence for at least 13 years and hasn't even been able to combine the two election commissions.

Hm.
