Disclosure of Donors? Absolutely

Legislation to pass a new finance disclosure law by Congress before November is running into objections from some of their own supporters. Under current law it is NOT required to disclose the names of companies that help pay for political ads.

Foremost among the objectors, as you might imagine are liberal groups such as the Sierra Club, more radical environmental groups and the liberal Alliance for Justice. Easy to figure. There donors, who probably made a great deal of money one way or another, now feel it is their duty to NOW protect the very environment they may have helped to destroy. They feel it would hurt their business if their identity became known.

Liberal and conservatives groups are concerned that donors wouldn't want to give to political campaigns if their names had to be used.

Anyone with common sense know why not. American greed. It would hurt their businesses.

In my OPINION it is somewhat of a shame that actions are taken where people are afraid to identity themselves for any cause.
